CITY FORTRESS OR CALLED DOENBURG FORTRESS



City fortress or also called DOENBURG fortress.

This fort was built by the Dutch colonial government in 1682 and is located in Kanawong village, Siau Tagulandang Biaro district, North Sulawesi.
However, even though it was built by the colonial government, according to local elders, this fort was also used by ancient people in fighting against the Mangindano or MIndanao people.
According to residents, from the location of the fort, local residents at that time used stones as stones to ward off/fight enemies. Meanwhile, according to reliable sources, this City Fort was also used by the Japanese colonialists against the Allies around 1942-1945.

Some of the very interesting things about this fort are, this fort is made from a collection of rocks, some of which are quite large, and there are also sea coral rocks...

At this location you can still see some of the remains or ruins of the fort which are still neatly arrangedand also not far from the location of the fort there is a cave which contains bones or skulls.
